Academee Learning Solutions

Academee awarded Disability Symbol

We are pleased to announce that Academee has been awarded the Disability Symbol, in recognition of our commitment to the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people. This award follows hot on the heels of Academee's inclusion in the Financial Times 'Top 50 Best Workplaces 2006' which placed us at number 32 in the UK.

The Disability 'two ticks' Symbol is awarded by Jobcentre Plus to employers across Great Britain in a wide range of industries.

The commitments Academee has made are:

  • to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and consider them on their abilities
  • to ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss, at any time, but at least once a year, with disabled employees what can be done to make sure they can develop and use their abilities
  • to make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment
  • to take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make these commitments work
  • each year to review the five commitments and what has been achieved, plan ways to improve on them and let employees and Jobcentre Plus know about progress and future plans.

Our commitment to the employment and career development of disabled people is part of our overall commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion at Academee. This is not only central to the Academee ethos and values, but also a key area in our work with clients.

Academee's diversity and inclusion learning solutions enable any organisation not only to comply with government legislation and fulfil responsibilities regarding equality in the workplace, but also to create a workplace where diversity and inclusion are genuinely valued.

At Academee, we believe we should practise what we preach. We also believe that great people make great organisations.
