Academee has been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For.
Achieving the enviable status of one of the UK's leading employers, Academee was judged against organisations from all over the UK employing between 50 and 300 people.
The Sunday Times Best Companies is the most comprehensive survey of workplace satisfaction in the UK. Based on individual employee opinions, the list is a measure of the quality of a work environment. The award was presented to Simon Hayward, CEO of Academee, by Richard Caseby, managing editor of The Sunday Times, at a ceremony in London on 27 February. The list was published in a special Sunday Times supplement on 2 March.
Simon Hayward was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of Academee: "We are a people business. Our people are the reason clients choose to work with us, and they are central to our success. We are going through a period of strong international growth, which is directly due to the commitment and contribution made by each and every individual who works for Academee. The continual hard work and creativity of our talented workforce has led to Academee becoming one of the leading learning solutions providers not only in the UK, but increasingly across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region."
Being a 'Best Company' takes a deep-rooted commitment from organisations to achieving excellence in every area of the workplace and in supporting the day to day working lives of employees. Research has demonstrated that this type of commitment brings tangible benefits such as improved workplace engagement, better staff retention, reduced recruitment costs and improved financial performance.
The survey on which these rankings are based asks staff for their views on the organisation they work for in an in-depth online survey. Not only were a record number of organisations considered for a place on the 2008 list, but the quality of the workplaces scrutinised has also risen.
Using a methodology designed expressly for the British workplace, The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For believes that the happiest, most productive workplaces exhibit strength in key areas including leadership, wellbeing, personal growth and giving something back to society.
