Academee's Jane to run London Marathon in aid of Leukaemia Research

Academee's PR manager, Jane O'Hara, is running the Flora London Marathon on 13 April to raise money for Leukaemia Research.

This will be Jane's first marathon and she is training regularly to make sure she gets round the 26.2 mile course. She recently joined a local running club and is taking part in a series of 10k races and half marathons in the run up to the main event.

The Flora London Marathon is one of the world's greatest marathons and over 35,000 people will take part this year. It is also the largest annual fund raising event in the world, with participants raising over £41.5million for charity in 2007.

"It's a real honour to be part of the Leukaemia Research running team," says Jane. "The generous sponsorship support I've received so far from all my wonderful colleagues and friends is also a real incentive to keep going!"

Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, myeloma, Hodgkin's and other lymphomas. 110,000 children and adults are living with these cancers in the UK today, and 24,500 are newly diagnosed every year.
