Alison Tickner to head up Academee's Asia-Pacific operation
Alison Tickner has taken up a new role at Academee as managing director of our recently launched Asia-Pacific (AP) operation. Alison will be based at our AP head office in Singapore.
The extensive Academee AP operation offers Academee's full range of blended learning services which combine consultancy, face to face learning, elearning and creative solutions to meet clients' specific needs. Specialising in the areas of leadership, management and talent development, customer and employee engagement, diversity and coaching, these solutions are designed to impact on individual and organisational performance.
Academee, which is headquartered in the UK and has a network of European offices, has created successful global learning programmes for major clients including The Royal Bank of Scotland Group, InterContinental Hotels Group and Fujitsu Services. Many of Academee's clients are expanding rapidly into the Asia-Pacific region.
Alison, previously Academee's director of diversity, has already worked extensively in Asia-Pacific and is looking forward to her new role.
"The Asia-Pacific region is vast and it is developing at a tremendous rate," says Alison. "Singapore is an ideal gateway to the region and has been recognised in the World Bank ranks as the best place in the world to do business for the past two years."
The pace of change in the region has created a real thirst for learning. "Talent management is a huge challenge," says Alison. "Employers are competing for a finite pool of talent. Learning and development is a key tool for attracting, engaging and retaining people. Individuals want to work for organisations offering opportunities for personal growth and development.
"The Academee AP blended learning approach is quite unique in Asia-Pacific and we are already working with new clients in the region as well as developing global learning programmes with existing Academee clients."
During recent visits to Singapore, Alison has also run a series of breakfast seminars focusing on the area of diversity. "Multicultural teams are the norm in Asia-Pacific and organisations need to create cultures of diversity and inclusion. Harnessing diversity brings tremendous benefits in the global economy."
Academee AP is also a major sponsor of the Singapore HRM Awards. The Academee Award for Best Change Management Practices, which will be presented at the awards dinner on 5 March 2008, recognises an organisation which has reacted well to changing demands and markets via their change management actions, initiatives and strategies.
"We are looking forward to hosting a table at the awards and welcoming many of our Academee AP clients to this prestigious event," says Alison. "We have worked in partnership with many international organisations on extensive leadership and change programmes, and are delighted to support an award which recognises excellence in this area."
Alison Tickner will lead Academee's Asia-Pacific operation, creating innovative global learning programmes to meet the needs of international clients.
