Motive, Art for Life
Academee's Clare Roberts invites you to a unique art event to benefit victims of landmines.
Academee's Clare Roberts recently launched a unique art event to benefit victims of landmines and remnants of war.
Clare, Academee's managing director, recently worked in Vietnam with the Mines Advisory Group and The No More Landmines Trust. She is now a partner in an organisation called Motive, Art for Life, dedicated to developing positive change and raising funds by exhibiting and selling artwork.
Led by Blake, a renowned Canadian artist and fellow long-term anti-landmines activist, Motive is an independent, non-governmental organisation.
The first Motive exhibition is Blake's Fragments, a unique collection of bronze sculptures that make a powerful political, social and artistic statement. The broken human forms have been described as 'horrific but strangely beautiful' and tell of the tragedy of war.
The exhibition aims to raise £1.2 million to benefit The No More Landmines Trust. You can view the sculptures on the Motive website at www.motive-art.org, or see a selected few on display in the Academee office. The exhibition officially runs from November 1-17 at 5 Pall Mall, London.
Academee's creative team has also been working in partnership with The No More Landmines Trust to help rebrand the organisation and create new website designs free of charge. The charity estimates that there are between 70 and 80 million landmines in the ground in one-third of the world's nations. These maim or kill 15,000 to 20,000 civilians every year.
This exhibition is not just about art. It's about saving lives. All the profits from sales will go towards landmine clearance and victim support across the world. Your organisation's participation in this corporate responsibility opportunity would be highlighted on the Fragments exhibition website throughout the project. To find out more, please call Academee on +44 (0) 1625 540540. This is an excellent chance for you not only to support art for art's sake - but art for life's sake.
