Academee Learning Solutions

Academee's James Corbett named 'Young eLearning Professional of the Year.'

James Corbett, leader of Academee's elearning and applications development team, was named 'Young eLearning Professional of the Year' at the prestigious eLearning Awards on 10 November 2006. The awards, presented by e.learning age magazine in association with the eLearning Network, recognise real excellence in the elearning industry.

James is responsible for the creation of some of Academee's most successful elearning systems and applications. He is also actively involved in client relationship management. Over the last six years, he has made an outstanding contribution to Academee's success.

Academee's development team, which creates leading edge elearning solutions, was also shortlisted in the 'eLearning Team of the Year' category. This diverse team includes highly skilled specialists in the areas of learning design, web development, programming, creative design, knowledge architecture, ecoaching and project management.

The awards are judged independently by the industry's foremost elearning association - the eLearning Network - and recognise organisations who have had a positive impact on clients' performance. The judging process ensures that the evidence provided in each application is real, transparent and verifiable. The awards seek to recognise individuals, teams and initiatives which can be held up as benchmarks, which others in the industry can aspire to.

Stuart Chapman, Compensation and Benefits Manager at Finning (UK), has worked closely with James, and found that, “James showed a level of commitment, maturity and flexibility that is refreshing to find as a client. He frequently adapted his timescales to respond to changing demands, and where technical challenges arose that were outside of his remit, he would take the initiative in finding solutions. James has the rare blend of excellent technical, customer and interpersonal skills that make him a pleasure to work with.”

Jill Rogers of Jill Rogers Associates, is also enthusiastic about working with James: ”I have really enjoyed working with James. I like his direct approach. He's imaginative in the way he interprets our brief and he comes up with very good solutions to the challenges we set him. His directness helps us to see what is going to be the best solution. As a client, we know what we want but not how to get it, and he elaborates on our brief to create a solution that is both sophisticated and user friendly. When we need to change things, he is always really accommodating and obliging about altering the structure. Normally he can make any changes we suggest, but if he can't, he explains exactly why not - I trust that.”

“He has a calm maturity and technical mastery that belies his age,” adds Simon Hayward, CEO of Academee. “We rely on him greatly for our own content delivery system, and he has never let us down. Our clients come back repeatedly for innovative applications development on projects that James manages that is delivered in a way that is both self-effacing and technically elegant.”

Academee currently offers some of the most sophisticated blended learning solutions on the market. eLearning is created by the Academee development team, who also produce a range of online learning solutions which go beyond traditional elearning to encompass online learning tools, surveys, assessments, collaborative activities and ecoaching facilities. Academee combines these with face to face learning and consultancy to create individual, tailor-made learning solutions for clients.
