Academee's Clare is Cheshire Businesswoman of the Year!

Clare Roberts, managing director of Academee, won the Women in Business Award at the prestigious Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards on Friday, 28 September. Academee was also a finalist for the second year running in the 'Employer of the Year' category.

Clare, who co-founded Academee and is currently driving its overseas expansion, has previously been recognised by the North West Women of Achievement Awards, the Executive Team of the Year Awards and the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

As a partner in Motive, Art For Good, she is currently spearheading a £1.2 million fundraising drive to support victims of landmines.

The award also recognises Clare's visionary leadership and Academee's strong growth. In the past year, the business grew by 27 per cent. Academee recently opened an office in Singapore to support clients in the Asia-Pacific region and has also built a network of European offices in partnership with some of Europe's leading learning organisations.

“It is a real honour to receive this award,” says Clare. “I'd like to thank all my wonderful, talented colleagues at Academee. Our success and strong growth is all down to their dedication and hard work. I'd also like both colleagues and clients for supporting all my fundraising work with Motive, Art For Good, which is raising money for the No More Landmines Trust. The tremendous support I receive from the people around me makes it possible for me to undertake new challenges!”

Academee has been recognised as one of the Financial Times 'Top 50 Best Workplaces' for the past two years and has also been recognised by the World of Learning Awards, eLearning Awards, North of England Excellence Awards, Personnel Today Awards, League of American Communications Professionals 'Inspire' Awards, British Gas/Daily Express Tomorrow's People Awards and the BT Vision 100.
